The Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire article is fairly complicated but there's a lot of interesting information on all sides, and I'm still working on it, but in the meantime, 75 newly-free Kindle titles were just released and posted to the Kindle forums, so I'm posting this first.

  The digital 'list' price is obviously a mistake! although it's not even as funny as the price it's sold for under the 'paperback' version if you click on that.

WELL, I am still on my WORDY coming post on the Nook Tablet and Kindle File skirmish!  Stock up on Murine.

  But it's not finished yet, and now Amazon has put out another press release, and it's one you probably should know about.

So, I'll just post it, mostly AS IS (except for the usual description of Amazon at the bottom and a couple of shortcuts) since it is information Amazon does want distributed.

  Essentially, The new Kindles are going to be popping up at over 16,000 stores across the U.S., where you'll be able to try them out to see which one might best suit you and yours, so here are the details, from Amazon (boldfacing mine):

Revenge: ABC's Revenge: Pilot Episode Script, by ABC Studios, 19 customer reviews, 3.8 stars $0.00 (Link: amzn.to/revenge-abc)

ABC Studios offered, in September, a free Kindle edition of the Pilot Episode Script of their tv series Revenge, which they were featuring pretty heavily in what many of us considered obnoxiously repeated ads so that we had become sick of the show before it even started.

  As it turns out, though, it became the surprise hit of the TV season (TV Guide and other articles), even beating CSI and winning the 10pm hour Nov 3, and has received the go-ahead for a full season, so I'm highlighting what was the script of the Pilot episode for those interested in that.
  I've read that they modified the pilot somewhat after that script was released, but I haven't kept up with the details.  It explains some of the background though. "Listed" at $0.99, it's still $0.00

  Somewhat interestingly, The NY Times's Alessandra Stanley points out its timely theme of revenge against the entitled excesses of some elements of the rich and says "It's Gossip Girl" tailored to this economy, with just enough campy suspense to be enjoyable."
  It's loosely based on 'The Count of Monte Cristo'..."Mostly, 'Revenge' is a corrective to past nighttime soap operas about the filthy rich that didn't punish them enough..."  :-)   "It does offer a different take on female rivalry...focuses on mean-girl power struggles, with malice as the weapon of choice...More than sex, love, or friendship, money is the currency of power, and women are those pursuing it... [Isn't that fairly depressing?]
  The rich get richer on 'Revenge' and the poor get even."  Mostly, I've seen, in a quick look at discussions, that viewers mostly like the idea of someone normally powerless getting revenge (w/o intent to physically harm someone) and with truly campy action, well-acted, that succeeds at being suspense-filled - not easy to do.  Show synopses + Hulu link for the interested.

A List of Prime-Eligible Kindle Owner Lending Library Books you can browse at Amazon

PRIME-ELIGIBLE KINDLE BOOKS

At Twitter, @PublishersLunch tweeted, "This Amazon Link Lets You Browse 2,700 Prime Lending Titles Right On Their Site."

  The link they gave leads to a page of Prime Eligible Books in general  and says,
  "Showing 1 - 12 of 9,499,136 Results"

which is a bit more than Amazon has. What Amazon did was add together Paperback, Hardcover, Kindle Edition, PDF, and "See more," apparently, to get that number.

  And already #1 has no image and "This item is currently not available" -- in a sorting by 'Popularity'.

That is nevertheless a very worthwhile link:  I clicked on "Kindle Edition" which claims to have "2,548" results, but, as you can see,
the linked page of Prime-Eligible Kindle Edition books (Link: amzn.to/kprimebooks ) actually says,

  "Showing 1 - 12 of 5,379 Results" *

which is closer to what Amazon claims is lendable via the Prime program.. (See an explanation of the Prime Kindle Owners Lending Program.) I clicked on a number of them to see that they are $0.00 for PRIME members (remembering you can borrow only ONE per CALENDAR MONTH on an account (no matter how many Kindle devices share that account).

  You can of course sort by Avg Customer Review and the other usual sorts, and choose from genres/subcategories on the left, so I will will include this from now on, with some reference lists and tables.
